A wide range of antiques furniture is a top tip for highlights at The Pavilions of Harrogate Decorative, Antiques & Fine Art Fair at the Great Yorkshire Showground this summer.

A superb ‘stickback’ Windsor chair made in Yorkshire in around 1800 will be on sale by Dales Antiques from Kirby Lonsdale. The rare collector’s piece, which has been loved for more than 200 years, is made from ash wood, which gives it an attractive colour and is priced at £2,950.

Dales Antiques will also be selling a wide range of country pieces, which include farmhouse tables, chairs, cupboards, chests and unusual pieces such as an Irish toleware tea canister. Leonard Handley, from the company, is a specialist in 17th and 18th century Delft pottery, which is renowned for its striking blue and white designs – and a selection of pieces will be on sale.

We’ve got a wider range of antique furniture now than for years

Fair organiser Sue Ede

She added: “Our regular exhibitor Mike Melody Antiques has been showing for more a decade and will be offering farmhouse dressers, tables, sets of chairs and many unique pieces. Mark Buckley Antiques, a Yorkshire dealer, will be specialising in fine Victorian and Edwardian ‘town’ furniture, while Peter Bunting Antiques joins us with early oak and country pieces.”
