Harrogate speakeasy cocktail bar shortlisted for two prestigious national hospitality awards

An independent cocktail bar in Harrogate has been shortlisted for two prestigious Bar Magazine Awards, less than two years after opening its doors in the town centre.

Above & Beyond, the hidden speakeasy-style cocktail bar on Cheltenham Crescent, has been nominated in the Best Venue Manager and Marketing Innovation categories.

The nominations mark another major milestone for the popular venue, which opened its doors in early 2025 and has quickly established itself as one of the country’s leading cocktail destinations.

Earlier this year, Above & Beyond was ranked 38th in the UK's Top 50 Cocktail Bars, placing it alongside some of the most respected venues in the country and further cementing Harrogate's reputation on the national hospitality scene.

Rich Hamer, Venue Manager at Above & Beyond, said: “We are beyond thrilled to be recognised alongside some incredible people and businesses across the whole of the UK’s hospitality industry.

“From opening in a small town to gaining national recognition in less than two years is a real pinch-us moment and is a testament to our team and all of the hard work they do to push this business forward.”

The Bar Magazine Awards celebrate excellence across the UK's hospitality industry, recognising outstanding venues, operators and individuals who have made a significant impact on the sector.

Since opening, Above & Beyond has built a loyal following thanks to its immersive speakeasy-inspired setting, innovative cocktail menu and creative marketing campaigns.

The latest nominations add to a growing list of accolades for the Harrogate business, which has enjoyed a remarkable rise since opening and continues to put the town firmly on the map as a destination for exceptional cocktails.

The winners of the Bar Magazine Awards 2027 will be announced at a ceremony in London in January.
