On-loan Bolton Wanderers goalkeeper Luke Hutchinson believes Harrogate Town can achieve 'anything we want'

On-loan Bolton Wanderers goalkeeper Luke Hutchinson believes that Harrogate Town can achieve ‘anything we want this season’.

The 24-year-old was in bullish mood after keeping his third consecutive clean sheet to help the Sulphurites record a 1-0 win at Woking on Saturday afternoon.

That result saw them record a fourth straight league victory for the first time in almost seven years and keeps them second in the National League standings after 13 rounds of fixtures.

And although Town already find themselves seven points behind leaders Boreham Wood, Hutchinson feels that he and his team-mates have demonstrated that the sky is the limit for them if they continue to perform as they have done in recent weeks.

“We are a really good team, so we can do anything we want this season,” the Trotters goalkeeper said.

“We are really confident. That’s four wins and three clean-sheets on the spin, and we have just got to keep performing and keep the momentum going.

“It was a difficult game on Saturday, especially in the second half with the conditions, but Ellis [Taylor] scored a great goal and we pushed on.

“We’ve got to keep pushing, racking up those clean sheets, keep on scoring goals.

“All the lads are doing really well, so credit to everyone. I am buzzing for everyone involved.”

Hutchinson has played every minute of every game since joining Harrogate from Bolton at the start of September, with Saturday’s appearance against Woking his seventh for the club.

And although it perhaps took him a few games to find his feet, he has looked extremely assured of late and managed a hat-trick of shut-outs in the process.

“I am absolutely buzzing with three clean sheets,” he added. “You can’t complain about that.

“I made a decent save in the first half, so it was nice to contribute. But that is what I am there for.

“I’ve got to credit Phil [Priestley], the goalie coach, but credit goes to everyone.”

Saturday’s success at Woking was achieved courtesy of Ellis Taylor’s clinical 32nd-minute strike and means that high-flying Town have now come out on top in nine of their opening 13 National League outings.
